Dr M Manzoor Alam, Chairman IOS presents a memorandum to Chief Minister of Delhi

New Delhi, May 20: On the occasion of the release of the book Artisans in India by the honourable Chief Minister of Delhi Madam Sheila Dikshit, the following memorandum was presented to her by IOS Chairman Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam for favour of consideration and suitable action:

I. A nodal agency may be created for capacity building by integrating
(a) training centre for modernising the products
(b) marketing of the products
(c) maintaining high quality of products.

II. (a) Involving state handicrafts corporation, including marketing agencies for sustaining products and marketing,
(b) encouraging entrepreneurship through linking Rural Regional Banks and NGOs.

III. Imparting education and training specially for school dropouts, according to their aptitude on the pattern of ITI (different agencies like Minority Commission, Dalit and Backward Classes Commission may play important role)
